First Class Writing Room and Library on the 'Orama' (1911)

Interior of the passenger liner 'Orama' (1911) showing the First Class Writing Room and Library, on the Promenade Deck, a view looking across to starboard. The bookcase at the forward end and the circular skylight above the centre are visible.

The main public rooms on the 'Orama' were designed by the architect Robert Whyte (1873-1949). The pillasters, ceiling bands and medallions, were borrowed from the repertoire of ornaments used by Robert Adam.
