Victory Medal 1914-18
Awarded to George Henry Boots (1886-1915). Obverse: Winged Victory standing (front), a palm branch in her right hand, her left arm outstretched. Reverse: Within a laurel garland, Inscription: 'THE GREAT WAR FOR CIVILIZATION 1914-1919'. Inscribed on edge: 'S.S.108078 G.H. BOOTS.STO.R.N.' Ribbon missing.
George Henry Boots from East Ham, entered the Royal Navy on 1 February 1909. He served as a Stoker 1st class. During World War I, served with the Hood Battalion, Royal Naval Division. He was killed in action during the Gallipoli Campaign on 10 May 1915.
