Cross Cross awarded to George Henry Boots (1886-1915). Obverse: Archer and rifleman in the centre. Inscription: 'NRA' (Top), '1300 1500' (left) '1860' (right). Below 'BATTALION RECRUIT'. Reverse: 'Pte G. Boots 22nd MX RV'. ('RV' stands for 'Rifle Volunteer').
George Henry Boots from East Ham, entered the Royal Navy on 1 February 1909. He served as a Stoker 1st class. During World War I, served with the Hood Battalion, Royal Naval Division. He was killed in action during the Gallipoli Campaign on 10 May 1915.
