Dunkerque medal 1940
Awarded to Seaman W.T. Elmslie RNR. Obverse: A shield, bearing a fish and in chief a lion passant (the arms of Dunkirk). Superimposed on an anchor and laurel wreath, crossed swords above. Reverse: Within a laurel wreath, a disc bearing a burning lamp crossed swords above. Inscribed: 'DUNKERQUE-1940-' Suspended by a ring from a yellow ribbon with two broad and two narrow red stripes and a black line on each of the broad red stripes and the narrow yellow stripes.
