Plate
A white glazed porcelain plate from the Russian Imperial yacht 'Standart' 1896. It has two gilt lines around the rim and a gold monogram 'A II' below a painted, coloured crown - the royal monogram of Alexander II (1818-1881) Emperor of Russia. On the base, the crowned initial and date 'N II 1911' referring to Nicholas II (1868-1918). This is possibly a replacement plate for an earlier service. The plate was brought to Great Britain by Stanislaus Niewerowski, who commanded the imperial yacht from 1895-1914.
