Badge: Order of the British Empire, 4th class (military)
Awarded to Constructor Capt A J Merrington CBE RCNC in 1942. A silver gilt cross patonce, surmounted by the Imperial Crown. In centre within a circle inscribed: "FOR GOD AND THE EMPIRE" are depicted the joint effigies of King George V and Queen Mary crowned (L). The reverse bears the Royal Cypher of King George V "GR" within a rope circle. Ribbon is rose pink with pearl-grey edges and with a central narrow grey stripe. In fitted box of issue.
