Cargo vessel

Scale:Unknown. Waterline model of a cargo vessel of the Salen shipping company. The hull is painted pale grey with a red brown boot topping along the waterline. the decks are painted a pale green and are complete with four cargo hatches with light brown covers all of which are served by two pairs of cargo cranes. The raised foredeck is complete with a short mast and anchor handling equipment, while at the stern, there is a raised deck fitted with a pair of lifeboats on davits and a stern walk protruding aft. The bridge superstructure is painted white with pale green decks and is complete with a pair of lifeboats rigged to davits, a mast with communication equipment and a blue-coloured oval shaped funnel with a black top and the letter 'S' painted on in white. On base of model: "349" (?)
The 'S' funnel mark is that of the Salen shipping company of Stockholm, Sweden. The model appears to represent one of four sister-ships named Ariel, Antilope, Albany and Argonaut operated by Salen AB of Sweden and built by Eriksberg Mekaniska Verkstad A/B, Goteborg, Sweden in 1964-65.
