First Class Promenade on the 'Aquitania' (1914)
Deck view on the passenger liner 'Aquitania' (1914) showing the sheltered part of the First Class Promenade on the port side of the Bridge Deck (B Deck). The raised terrace on the inboard side enabled passengers in deckchairs to have a better view of the sea. The design also incorporated small windows for admitting light and air to the inner cabins below. Chalk markings on the deck indicate that varnishing work is in progress.
