Gripsholm (1925); Passenger vessel
Scale: Unknown. A waterline model of a passenger vessel. The hull is painted white with orange/red at the waterline, and pale brown decks with mid grey cargo hatch covers. The long forecastle has anchor cable gear, a wave deflector, and two hatches, fore and aft, served by a pair of derricks between them. The fore deck has a single hatch with a derrick mast forward, and two pairs of lifeboats either side of it, double-banked and stowed on davits. The main superstructure extends for much of the length of the ship. The bridge house is placed forward and is flanked by a pair of prominent enclosed bridge wings. The main promenade deck has a shorter open promenade on the deck above. The boat deck has ten pairs of lifeboats, stowed double-banked on port and starboard sides. Between them is a pair of funnels, elliptical in section, painted yellow with, on either side of each funnel, three yellow crowns on royal blue circles denoting Swedish America Line. At the aft end of the upper promenade deck is a further eight lifeboats, double-banked, stowed on port and starboard sides. Between them is a pair of hatches, fore and aft, with a derrick mast between them. This deck acts as a shelter deck. The stern deck has a single hatch served by a pair of derricks. There is a raised poop with secondary bridge wings. On base of model "84".
