Strathnaver (1931); Strathaird (1932); Passenger vessel; Liner

Scale: Unknown. A waterline model of the P&O liners Strathnaver (1931) and Strathaird (1932), passenger vessels. The hull is painted white, with vermilion at the waterline, and white upperparts and superstructure. The fore and aft decks are painted pale brown with mid-grey cargo hatch covers, other decks are white. The forecastle includes anchor cable-handling gear and provision for the stowage of the forward pair of derricks. The split-level foredeck incorporates a raised deck with a foremast and two lifeboats stowed either side of it. The foremast has two pairs of derricks rigged to it. Fore and aft of the raised deck are a pair of hatches, the rearmost one having a pair of derricks either side of it. The higher section of foredeck has a further hatch.

The main superstructure is placed amidships, the forward elevation of which has a slight curvature. The forward elevation shows two enclosed decks and an open deck and, above this, an open bridge deck, clad in wood, flanked by bridge wings with an open look-out atop. The superstructure comprises three accommodation decks, he lowermost one being fully enclosed, with open promenades on the upper decks. The boat deck accommodates seven pairs of lifeboats, on the port and starboard sides, painted white with pale grey covers, all stowed on davits. Set between the boats are three funnels, painted pale yellow, in P&O company colours. Clustered around the second and third funnels are twelve ventilators, painted yellow with red openings. The forward funnel has a whistle or siren attached to the front.

The rear of the upper promenade deck has a single hatch served by a pair of derricks on either side. There is also a raised deck, or awning, with a pair of lifeboats stowed on davits either on side. The aft deck has a pair of hatches and, set between them, a raised deck on which is placed a mainmast with three (?) pairs of derricks. A raised poop deck follows the curvature of the stern.
