First Class Salon on the 'Aquitania' (1914)
Interior of the passenger liner 'Aquitania' (1914). The First Class Salon (or Writing Room) on the port side of the Promenade Deck (A Deck); a view looking aft through the entrance arch and across the expansion joint. The architectural frame and the furniture supplied by Waring & Gillow Ltd are in the Louis XVI style. One of the painted panels after Hubert Robert (1733-1808) can be seen in the background.
