Type C.K.25
The sextant has a grey-lacquered alloy casing with artificial materials housing optical equipment. The instrument has four settings for shades in clear, dark grey, and two blue.
The sextant has a circular black scale with two scales, each from 0° to 100° by 1°. It also has a black plastic micrometer to 1 arcminute.
The solar sextant was screwed onto the search periscope of a submarine, for taking sights of both the Sun and stars; this type was probably used on British conventional submarines.
The provenance suggests that Barr and Stroud manufactured this instrument.
