Boat Deck on the 'Aquitania' (1914)
Deck view on the passenger liner 'Aquitania' (1914) showing the port side of the Boat Deck, a view looking forward, showing one of the two 30ft motor boats supplied by John I. Thornycroft & Co Ltd (Yard Nos 731 and 732). The motor boats were designed to tow a considerable number of other lifeboats and were fitted with wireless telegraph equipment. The Martin patent trackways for moving the semi-collapsible boats across to the davits can be seen in the background.
