Service entrance to the First Class Dining Saloon on the 'Aquitania' (1914)
Interior of the passenger liner 'Aquitania' (1914) showing the sliding fireproof doors at the after end of the First Class Dining Saloon (Louis XVI Restaurant), on the Upper Deck (D Deck). This is one of the entrances from the First Class Pantry. Steel doors of this kind were supplied by the Art Metal Construction Co Ltd, London.
The design of the interiors on the 'Aquitania' was largely the work of Arthur Joseph Davis (1878-1951) of the architects Mewès & Davis, London. The decoration of the First Class Dining Saloon was carried out by P. H. Rémon & Sons, Paris.
