Windows above the First Class Lounge on the 'Aquitania' (1914)
Interior of the passenger liner 'Aquitania' (1914) showing the tripartite and circular lunettes in the cove above the First Class Lounge on the Promenade Deck (A Deck). Below are the Georgian style windows overlooking the First Class Garden Lounge. The photograph was taken during the fitting-out work. The wrought-iron grilles were reproduced from the work of Jean Tijou (circa 1689-1712) and probably came from the workshop of William Bainbridge Reynolds (1855-1935).
The decoration of the First Class Lounge was carried out by Lenygon & Co Ltd, London.
