Cabin Class Card Room on the 'Missanabie' (1914)

Interior of the passenger liner 'Missanabie' (1914) showing the Cabin Class Card Room, on the starboard side of the Upper Promenade Deck (B Deck). A view looking forward, with the panelling covering the engine and boiler casing on the left side of the image. Playing card symbols appear in the lino tile design.

The main Cabin Class rooms on the 'Missanabie' were designed by the architect George Abraham Crawley (1864-1926) and mostly decorated in the Georgian style. The work was carried out by Wylie & Lochhead Ltd, Glasgow. Prior to his work on the 'Missanabie', Crawley designed interiors for the sisterships ‘Empress of Asia’ (1913) and ‘Empress of Russia’ (1913).
