Legend: 'HOC PRETIVM CIVE SERVATO TVLIT'. Inscription: 'LIEUT CHAS D. LUCAS. R.N. H.M.S. HECLA. VIT. OB SERV D.D. SOC.REG.HVM. 21 JUNE 1854'. Fitted with a ring and dark blue ribbon. Owner had original silver medal gilded. Awarded for throwing a live shell overboard from the deck of HMS 'Hecla', Bomarsund 1854.
