Badge: Royal Hanovarian Guelphic Order, 3rd class

Awarded to Captain William Slaughter. Badge: Gold, a Maltese cross of eight points with gold knobs on the points and a lion between each limb, surmounted by the Hanovarian Crown resting on two swords in saltire. Obverse: In the centre the white horse of Hanover on a red and green enamelled ground, surrounded by a band of blue enamel with the motto in gold letters, "NEC ASPERA TERRENT". Surrounding the circle is a laurel wreath enamelled green. Reverse: In centre, the monogram "G.R." in gold on a red enamel ground, surmounted by the British Crown enamelled in proper colours, surrounded by a gold circle with the date of the institution "MDCCCXV" and another wreath of laurel. Worn on the left breast suspended by a pale blue ribbon.
