Badge and star: Order of the Falcon of Iceland, 2nd class
Awarded to Adm-Fleet Lord Cunningham of Hyndhope. Obverse: A silver-gilt Latin cross, enamelled white, bearing, at the intersection of the limbs, a blue enamelled silver gilt oval charged with a silver falcon with its wings outstretched. The cross is surmounted by a strawberry leaf and knot in gold, and these in their turn are surmounted by the Royal Crown. Reverse: The oval centre bears the inscription "FYRSTI DESEMBER 1918" and is charged with a white enamelled oval bearing the royal cypher (of Christian X) surmounted by the crown, all in silver. Worn at the neck by a blue ribbon with a white stripe near each edge, each white stripe has a thin red stripe running down its centre. Star: Chipped silver rayed star of eight points, with a raised silver circle in the centre (also chipped) surrounding a matt silver disc charged with the blue enamel and silver device of the centre of the obverse of the badge.
The order was established on 3 July 1921 by Christian X of Denmark and was retained when Iceland became a republic.
