Collar and star: Order of St Michael and St George, 1st class
Awarded to Adm Sir Robert Stopford. Collar: Composed alternately of gold crowned lions, white enamel maltese crosses and cyphers "S.M." and "S.G." At top and bottom of the collar are two winged lions; bottom one surmounted by a gold crown. Each lion holds a book and seven arrows. Star: Seven rays of silver between each is a smaller ray of gold. Superimposed, a red enamelled cross with in the centre, a medallion of St Michael trampling Satan surrounded by a blue band with the motto: "SUSPICIUM MELIORIS AEVI". Sequin star. Ribbon, blue with a centre red stripe.
