A relic of Sir John Franklin's last expedition 1845-48. A domed brass coat button with a shank. It was found at Crozier's camp Ross Cairn, Point Victory, King William Island on 11 July 1879 by the Schwatka Search Expedition 1878-79.
This was the place where the crews of 'Erebus' and 'Terror' landed after abandoning their ships.
