Seafront with bathing machines, Broadstairs, Kent.
Looking south west along the seafront at Broadstairs from the RNLI lifeboat house towards the cliffs, beach and bathing machines. The topsail schooner DISPATCH (1806) and small craft are moored in the bay. The houses on Victoria Parade line the cliff top. On the wooden wall by the door on the right of the image is the figurehead of Hercules from a Spanish ship wrecked 16 January 1844 and the Highland Chief figurehead from a ship wrecked 12 February 1869.
