Wire cartridge
A relic of Sir John Franklin's last expedition 1845-48. Two wire cartridges, found in an abandoned boat at Erebus Bay, King William Island by the Schwatka Search Expedition 1878-79. Only the wire mesh remains. The markings on the boat's stem indicate it was the same one found by McClintock. During the intervening years the Inuit had broken it up. Two loaded shot guns were found at the same site.
