A Splendid Record of British Bravery displayed in the Six French Ships of the line captured the first of June 1794, as they appeared on their arrival in Portsmouth Harbour. Plate II L'Impetieux [sic] & Northumberland
The two ships Imperieuse and Northumberland are shown moored alongside each other, viewed from the starboard bow quarter, in Portsmouth Harbour. Both ships have their upper masts lowered. The Impetueux, on the left of the image, is flying the British ensign as well as the French tricolour at her stern. A small rowing boat is alongside the Impetueux and figures appear to be embarking or disembarking. Figures can be seen on the decks of both ships. There are various other vessels visible in the harbour.
