Dock Offices and Wilberforce Monument
A view of the Wilberforce Monument taken from the east side of Prince's Dock looking north-west across its entrance with Queen's Dock. In the background to the right is the Hull Dock Office with the buildings of King Edward Street leading into the distance. Assuming the clock on its tower was working, the photograph was taken at 1501hrs. To the left of the monument, behind the OXO advertisement, is the Prudential Tower. Three barges are secured alongside the north-west wall of Prince's Dock, of which the outermost barge is very low in the water. Bricks can be seen stacked on the north side of the quay below the monument. In the middle distance is a blurred figure of a man sculling his boat towards the entrance to Queen's Dock. Children are playing on the quay below the sign 'Wm Moran & Co'. William Moran & Co were ship owners and agents and coal exporters based in Prince's Dock Street.
