Study for A Jetty at Greenwich

The small oil study referred to on the back of ZBA1675, also inscribed by Sir Brinsley Ford, presumably at the same time in 1984. The inscription is the same but with 'larger oil study' replacing 'smaller' and 'took to perfect' rather than 'took over' at the end. It is similarly signed by Ford but not dated, and bears a similar white label marked '2' in red. Round this another hand has written in ink 'Jetty at Greenwich? Close view?', while to the right in a third hand on the board in pencil is 'Anne Clements...No 6 [check missing word]. This study is for colour massing but shows some brick-red conti or similar crayon lines on the priming.PvdM 4/04
