Pistol

Pair of pistols. The pistols are fully stocked in walnut to the muzzle. The wooden butt is inlaid with silver wire in foliated design. The butt cap is in the form of a grotesque mask in silver. Above is a silver helmet type escutcheon. There is a silver sideplate in the form of cannon, flags and shield. There is a broad long trigger guard ending in leaf finial and a broad trigger with backward curl. There are two ramrod pipes each fitted with ramrods. The pistols are sidelock, flintlock. Both pistols are missing cocks. Shallow pear shaped pan. The steel barrel is round and secured to the stock by four pins. The calibre is 0.55in. The pistols are inscribed on lockplate 'T CARR' and on left side of barrel with a crown over 'P'.
