Sea Service Pistol

Sea Service pistol. The stock is made of walnut, and is fully stocked to the muzzle. Fitted with brass trigger guard and brass buttcap. A single brass ramrod pipe is fitted forward of the fore-end into which the wooden ramrod with brass tip is fitted. Steel trigger with slight backward curl. A steel belt hook is fitted to the side of the stock. The lock is a sidelock, flintlock. The barrel is circular and smoothbore. The calibre is 0.56in. It is inscribed on the lockplate with 'TOWER Crown' over 'GR'. On the barrel there is a crown over 'GR' over an anchor motif. Inscribed on the stock is 'II P' and a crown over an arrow over '1806'.
