Sea Service Pistol
Sea Service pistol. The stock made of walnut, is fully stocked to the muzzle. Fitted with brass trigger guard and brass buttcap. A single brass ramrod pipe is fitted forward of the fore-end into which the wooden ramrod with brass tip is fitted. It has a steel trigger with slight backward curl. A steel belt hook is fitted to the side of the stock. The lock is a sidelock, flintlock. The barrel is circular and, smoothbore. The calibre is 0.56in. It is inscribed on the lockplate with 'TOWER Crown' over 'GR'. Inscribed on the barrel are a 'Crown' over 'GR' over an anchor. Inscribed on the stock is 'IIP' 'crown' over an arrow over '1806'.
