Button, Royal Naval uniform: pattern 1807
Button. Flat. Rope twist edge. On a circular lined background is an oval with a rope twist edge and a smooth background. In the centre is an anchor with a snake entwined round the anchor. The head (facing left) goes through the loop at the top of the anchor with the body going under the right-hand stock, over the shank to the left, then under the shank to the left and over the right-hand arm. Surgeon.
