Scalpels

Surgical instruments belonging to Dr Alexander Hepburne Macklin (1889-1967), surgeon on Shackleton's last two expeditions. Set of three stainless steel scalpels and curettes by Weiss, London and one by Allen & Hanbury's, London. In red velvet lined, rigid black case, fastened with brass "popper" clasp.
