Punch and Judy puppet: the baby

A glove puppet, part of a Punch and Judy set belonging to puppeteer Peter Butchard (1909-2009). The character is a miniature Mr Punch and is probably the baby. Punch is left to look after the baby and throws it out of the booth. The puppet has a painted wooden head and hands but no legs, the left hand is a replacement. The body is made of red corderoy trimmed with yellow cotton braid. The lining is a plain red cotton. The neck ruff is made of synthetic fabric. The figure has brown hair, a pointed hat made of red velvet and no hump. The head is attached to a padded wooden stick, that continues inside the glove. A plastic curtain ring has been sewn to the rear edge of the puppet to hang it up.
