Punch and Judy puppet: Joey the Clown
A glove puppet, part of a Punch and Judy set belonging to puppeteer Peter Butchard (1909-2009). It represents Joey the clown who come on to suggest that its dinner time and leaves Punch in charge of the string of sausages which are stolen by the crocodile. The head, hands feet and legs are made of wood. It has black feet and green legs. The head is white with hair at the sides and a tuft on top. The mouth, nose cheeks and ears are painted red. The character wears a white costume with red and blue fabric buttons.
