The head of a glove puppet, part of a Punch and Judy set belonging to puppeteer Peter Butchard (1909-2009). A carved and painted wooden head. Part of a starched, machine-sewn shirt with a surviving button hole is still attached to the neck. There are still tacks in the head where the hair was formerly attached.
