Black Woman and Child
Drawing entitled 'Black Woman and Child,' done in ink and coloured washes and signed with initials of the artist. Below the drawing is the inscription: 'Black woman and child, She took a passage in 'Penelope' from Accra to Sierra Leone for the purpose of witnessing against an Englishman, to be tried for trafficking in slaves, this woman originally came from Lagos, and was purchased by the prisoner, at Little Popoe.'
