Anti-slavery medal
An anti-slavery medal with a chained slave kneeling on the obverse. The body of the slave has been painted with contemporary black enamel. It has a legend reading: 'AM I NOT A MAN AND A BROTHER'. The reverse has the inscription: 'WHATSOEVER YE WOULD THAT MEN SHOULD DO TO YOU, DO YE EVEN SO TO THEM.'
