Medal Commemorating the Abolition of the slave trade
The obverse of the medal depicts a European and an African standing, facing each other in the background, with five Africans are dancing around a tree. It has the legend: 'WE ARE ALL BRETHREN', and the exergue: 'SLAVE TRADE ABOLISHED BY GREAT BRITAIN 1807'. The reverse bears an Arabic inscription: 'Sale of slaves prohibited in 1807, Christian era, in the reign of George thie Third verily, we are all brothers'.
