Medal Commemorating the Coronation of William IV
The obverse of the medal depicts busts of William IV (1765–1837) and Queen Adelaide (1792–1849) facing right. It has the legend: 'THEIR MOST GRACIOUS MAJESTIES WILLIAM AND ADELAIDE'. On the reverse is a depiction of William IV and Queen Adelaide seated under a canopy with allegorical figures offering gifts and a slave in broken chains kneeling in the foreground. It has the legend: 'CORONATION', and the exergue: 'SEP 8. 1831'.
