Naval telescope
This achromatic telescope has a tapering wooden barrel and a single brass draw tube. The fittings are also made of brass and include sliding eyepiece and objective lens covers. A handwritten label on the barrel says that it was ‘Lord St Vincent’s Telescope Used at Battle of St Vincent 1797’, but this has not been confirmed.
