Celestial pocket globe - case for the terrestrial pocket globe. Spherical case consisting of two hinged hemispheres with two hook and eye clasps. It is lined with gores depicting the celestial sphere. Astronomical details are the same as those of the same Ferguson, GLB0057 but the southern hemisphere hour angles are added and a zodiacal belt is drawn. Stars are represented by different symbols, but a magnitude table is absent. The Milky Way is labelled. Six stars and two star groups are named. The 48 Ptolemaic constellations and four of the non-Ptolemaic constellations are drawn. Four of the southern constellations are drawn as well as those of Plancius and Hevelius.
