Watchmaker's tool
A small watchmakers' lathe.
The steel drive shaft is fitted with a single brass pulley and runs between a female centre and removable front bearing.
The working end of the drive shaft has a threaded hole with would have received a work holder of some description; given the small size of this tool, it is likely that a variety of wax chucks were used to hold the material for turning. The bar bed carries an adjustable tool rest.
