Hot water dish

Hot water dish with a central transfer showing the paddle steamer 'Precursor' 1841. The dish is earthenware and decorated with green transfers with foliage arabesques round the edge and underside. It has a painted pottery cover for the bung. 'PRECURSOR', 'EASTERN STEAM NAVIGATION COMPY' is printed on the base with the maker's mark.
