By 1943 the company operated 10 motor vessels. In 1952 the company purchased two Glasgow companies, Wimaisia Shipping Company Ltd. and Mac Shipping Company Ltd. By 1965 the company operated 7 tankers and 14 coasters. In the 1970’s the company joined with the S. William Coe Company to become Coe Metcalf Shipping. Two decades later the company was acquired by James Fisher, which still operates in the marine services business today. (Research: Rebecca Hernandez).
