The barrel is rifled and fitted with a blade foresight and a fixed V-notch rearsight. The calibre is 9mm. Engraved on the backstrap are the letters 'ISB' (property mark of I Seebataillon Kiel) and the number '515'. On top of the action the number '100' is inscribed, as is the serial number '8263' and a crown over an 'M'. In brown leather holster. The batallion's (marine infantry) duties were coastal defence and the protection of Germany's overseas colonies.
