Sea chest

Sea chest belonging to John Milton Moss (1836-1867) with a painting inside the lid. Dovetailed construction with wooden beckets and rope handles. The chest has straight sides, a hinged lid and is painted black. It is secured by a lock, and has provision for a slide inside to subdivide the interior. The base has skirting boards with skids underneath.
