Sea chest
Sea chest belonging to George John Herd. The chest is pine with a canvas covered lid and is painted black. It has skirting boards on three sides. The carrying handles consist of cleats and beckets with washers. The chest has sloping sides and original butt hinges. There is a heart-shaped escutcheon on the lock plate. Inside there is a till with the lid missing.
