Sea chest

Camphorwood sea chest with dovetailed sloping sides. It has skids underneath and is secured with a lock. There are skirting boards round the edges. Inside the lid there is a painting of a four-masted square-rigged ship, signal flags and house flags including that of the City Line (G. Smith and Sons, Glasgow). the handles consist of cleats carved with two stars and one original becket wrapped with canvas with leather washers. The lock has beeen removed.
