Carver chair
A carver chair with carved arms and back and turned wooden feet, upholstered in brown, uncut moquette. It formed part of the furniture of the manager's villa at the Stromness Whaling Station on South Georgia and was traditionally regarded as the suite sat on by Shackleton, Worsley and Crean after crossing the Island on 19 May 1916. It originally comprised seven items - a settee, two carvers and four dining chairs. See AAA3415 - AAA3420.
