Chair
One of a pair of stained beechwood elbow chairs with rush seats and turned spindle back rails and turned legs. From Merton Place, the home that Horatio Nelson purchased for himself, Emma Hamilton and their daughter Horatia. The other chair is AAA3459. Merton was left to Emma on Nelson's death but in April 1808 a decision was made to sell the house and contents to relieve some of her mounting debts.
