Longcase clock
This clock has a particularly fine mahogany case that conforms to the regional style of Chepstow and surrounding areas. The silvered dial features a rocking ship automata; above which is inscribed 'Success to Brave Rodney'. It is likely that this clock was produced shortly after Admiral George BrydgesRodney's (1719-1792) success at the Battle of the Saintes in 1782.
